We had a wonderful Christmas!

On Christmas Eve Chris and I went to church and it was such a beautiful service!! We sang Christmas Carols and then took Communion as a family. It was so nice. They had two tables set up at the front of the church, then when the ushers came to your row just you and your family would go up and take Communion together. I thought that made it very special!!
After Church we went back to my parents house. Lendie, Jason, and Emmy had made it to my parents house while we we're at church. It was exciting to see them!! Then Amber, Cole, Claudia, and Sophia came over. Nicky had to work so he couldn't make it. My mom had made a huge thing of seafood gumbo. We ate and then opened our Christmas presents. My parents got us a Garmin GPS!!! Chris and I decided not to go all out this year and spend a lot of money for Christmas so we only spent $30-$40 on each other. He got me the Disney Scene It game, which I have wanted for such a long time!! We have played so many times already, I absolutly love my gift! I got him an LSU shirt(which he looks so hott in) and the Iron Man dvd! He loved his gift as well!!
On Christmas Day we went to his parents house. His parents got me the cutest apron that is polka dotted and has my inital on it. Grandmother gave us a $50 gift card to J. Alexander's!! His sister got me the scrabble game and the baby a blanket!! We love everything that we recieved on Christmas!!
Today is Chris' first day back at work since Christmas Eve. It's sad here this morning b/c I want to be with him! We had a wonderful weekend though! Friday we went with my family to the movies and saw Four Christmases. Saturday we just hung out at the house, then Sunday we went with Lendie and Jason to PF Chang's and we saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It was a very good movie!!
Also yesterday Chris and I went to Destination Maternity to see if they were having any sales! They were!! I got a cute shirt for the summer for on $13 and a dress to wear to the two Graduations we have this year! I tried everything on with the belly that they have, and omg it was so cute!! We are 7 weeks today!! Time is just flying by!!

3 days till Christmas!!!

Last Friday was our last day before Christmas/New years break!! So I now have 2 weeks off of work, which I am so thankful for!! I am so happy that I have 2 weeks off of work during the first trimester.

I thought I understood when people would talk about how sick and tired they were all the time in their first trimester, but nothing quit prepares you to go through it yourself! It is still hard to believe that i'm pregnant! It's easy to say i'm pregnant, but to actually realize that there is a growing baby inside of me just blows me away!! I don't understand how anyone cannot believe in God! How can people not see that this is a miracle from God! Do they not understand how complex pregnancy is?? Think of all of the vital organs that are being formed, I just don't see how people can actually question that!!

I'm done with my Christmas shopping, as horrible as it sounds Chris' present was the last present I had to buy. I don't know why but I just couldn't think of anything that I really wanted to get him. I am so excited about Christmas, this time of the year is just so joyful!! This Christmas will be a little different though... every Christmas since I can remember we have gotten together with my dads side of the family on Christmas Eve. It has never failed that we always knew what we were doing on Christmas Eve! We've been doing this since I was born. This is the first Christmas Eve in 22 years that we are not getting together with them. That is not even the weirdest thing about it though, the weirdest thing is that it was never even brought up! No one decided that we're not getting together, it was just never mentioned! As if we hadn't being doing it for the last 22 years. I don't know I just found that strange!!

We are getting together with our friends to celebrate Christmas on Tuesday the 23rd, we are going to eat and just enjoy spending time with each other. Then on Christmas Eve we are doing Christmas with my family. My mom is cooking a Seafood Gumbo and we are all going to exchange our gifts and be with the family! I am so excited to give all of the kids their gifts!! On Christmas day we are going to Chris' family to celebrate Christmas! Then Christmas night Lendie, Jason, and Emmy will be here to do Christmas! I can't wait for all the excitement to start tomorrow!!

The Best Christmas Present Ever!!!

WE'RE PREGNANT!!WE'RE PREGNANT!!WE'RE PREGNANT!!

I've been feeling very strange lately, I don't know how to explain just a weird feeling. Also, my boobs have been growing if you believe it or not and they have been hurting and really really firm.

At work...

I went to work and throughout the day I just started feeling weird again, for the past couple of days I've been feeling like i'm going to start my period at any second but that hadn't happened either. That is not normal for me, normally when I feel the first cramp I know my cycle has started so I better hurry to the restroom. I had decided that when I left work I was going to go buy a pregnancy test at the store. I wasn't that excited b/c i've taken so many pregnancy test in the past 4 months that it felt like they were all going to be negative.

The test...

I had been holding my pee for about an hour when I finally got home b/c I didn't want to pee at work then not have to when I got home. So I started it off like you would any pregnancy test, and I watched. This was one of the test that if you are pregnant there will be a line in the square, and if your not pregnant there won't be a line. As i'm holding my test I start to see a line and that is the point I started to freak out!! I was crying, shaking, and not believing what I was seeing!!

20 min later...

I went into panic mode about how I was going to tell Chris. I had some m&m's personalized a while back that says we're pregnant but they were all the way at Ashlie's house, so that plan was out of the pictures. Then I remember this ornament that I had seen at hallmark and I knew how I was going to tell him. I ran to Hallmark, bought the ornament, and had it wrapped. I got home just as my mom was getting home. I called my sister, who I had already told earlier and told her mom was home and I was going to have to tell her. I sat the phone down on the counter with my sister still on the line. My mom came in the door and I had the biggest smile on my face, she asked "what is going on" then I said mom I'M PREGNANT!! I showed her the test and she started jumping up and down and crying.

The 2nd Test...

Me and my mom ran to Doctor Speeg's office here in Central and they gave me a pregnancy test as well. After the nurse looked at the test she said "YES YOU'RE PREGNANT" I freaked out again, went home, and took another test for fun!!

Surprising Christopher...

When he pulled up my heart started beating so fast, he walked in the door right away and said "The new canes is open, do you want to go eat there tonight" I said sure why not. In the back of my head i'm thinking we're not going to canes!! I went to the bedroom and started acted like I was doing something. When he came in the room I told him that I had gotten him something for being just an awesome husband and for taking living at my parents house so well. I handed him the present and he opened up this little ornament that is a minature onesie on a hanger and the onesie has the superman symbol on it. He said "aww baby it's cute" and I said "it's even cuter b/c WE'RE PREGNANT"!! He froze but with the biggest smile on his face. His eyes started watering and we just hugged and laughed together!!

Telling Everyone...

After I told Chris we started calling our families and telling them the good news. We went to his parents house and told his mom, dad, and sister in person. Everyone we have told has been so happy for us and we appreciate it so much!!

Now What...

Now we are constantly praying and believing for a full term pregnancy with the end result being a Healthy baby! We appreciate all the prayers that everyone will be praying for our little one!! We are so excited! Now the journey into pregnancy and parenthood begins!!

Snow Day

It doesn't happen that often, but it SNOWED in Louisiana!!!

That Fateful Morning....

I woke up at 5:15 on Thursday morning to my parents screaming it's snowing outside! I woke up for a little bit and looked at the snow then I went back to bed. I just knew that when I woke up at 6:10 school was going to be cancelled but to my surprise it wasn't so I started getting dressed. As I saw all of the other schools being closed I knew that eventually Central would announce it's closing, but didn't. At 7:15 I went outside to leave my house for work and my windshield wipers wouldn't work b/c of how heavy the snow was on them, so I got out to wipe the snow off. When I turned around to get back in my car I slipped down and slammed my head on the corner of my door!! I just knew that blood was about to start gushing from my head, but to my surprise it didn't. I called chris crying telling him that I had hurt myself and that I was trying to back out the drive way but couldn't do it! He told me that we was about to get off of work and he'd be home to help me soon. I went inside to wait for my knight in shining armor to come save me, when I saw on the news that both of the bridges were closed. That meant that my knight wasn't coming b/c he had been trapped! Then finally at 9:00 I found out that Central had cancelled school. So I went through all of that and for no reason!

That Afternoon.....

Chris didn't get home until 12:30 but we made the most of it, we went outside and had a snowball fight and we made a snowman!! Making a snowman is harder than what I thought!! For George's eyes, nose, and buttons we used small ornaments. With a pernament marker I made his buttons black.

Sick of being sick!!

As I sit here typing this post my nose is running and my face is burning!! I am so sick of always catching whatever it is the kids in my class have!! I also have some weird rash on my face, which sucks!! You would think by now my body would have some kind of immunity built up against all this cold/allergy stuff that I've gotten a million times since August!

ok my pity party is over....

I wrapped all of the Christmas presents today! Since I didn't feel good and couldn't go do anything I thought it would be a good time to wrap the presents!! I wrapped all of mine and my mom's presents!! It was fun putting all the pretty ribbons and bows on the gifts!
Chris went to wal-mart and my dad got out the Christmas decorations. As we were hanging the ornaments on the tree I started thinking that this is the first time i've done the tree with my parents since i've been married. We had fun, and I enjoyed doing that with my parents.

Everything is going as smoothly as possible living at my parents house right now. It has its ups and downs, but the fact that we are getting out of debt makes it worth it!! We are very blessed to have parents that would allow us to stay at their house for free to help us out! We have been here for a little over 2 months and the time is just flying by!!

Only 2 more weeks left of school before Christmas break!! yay!! These couple weeks are going to fly by!! We have a play to go to this week at Central High, that kids are really excited! Then next week we get out early Wed. Thurs. & Fri. On next Thursday after school we are having our "grown up" Christmas party. Next Friday my kids are putting on a program and having their Christmas party! So work will be very busy!!

Amber hosted a jewelry party tonight for Lauryn which I didn't get to go to b/c i'm sick. I'm sure Lauryn did great and made some sells!!

I don't know when my girlfriends and I are having our Christmas party, so if someone would let me know that would be great!!

Well i'm going to go spend time with the hubby!

It's been a while!!!

so it has been a very long time since I wrote on my blog!!

i'm not going to do a very long blog right now, but just want to catch everyone up!!

Chris and I are doing well!! Our anniversary was wonderful and life have just been great for us lately!

I am at my sisters house right now for the Thanksgiving Holidays and Chris and my dad are driving up on Wednesday.

We are still trying to get pregnant, but we are not too worried about it b/c we know it's not our timing that matters but God's!!

I am having a blast in Georgia and cannot wait for Chris to get here!!

Well I hope everyone is doing well and have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Life is Good!!!

I am just so happy and content with my life!! I was thinking about my life last night and how it is actually pretty simple!! I don't have anything to be stressed or freaked out about. We are now saving money and paying debt off. So i'm not stressed out about money!! I love my job and on Monday I will start working with Pre-K. So i'm not stressed out about my job!!I know we are getting a house in 6-7 months. So i'm not stressed out about getting a house! Finally, I know God is a faithful God and has always been there for Chris and I so we will be blessed with a baby when it is God's time!!! So i'm not stressed about having a baby!! I have a pretty carefree life!!

anyways so to what's been going on....

I found out on Tuesday that they are allowing me to transfer from the class that i'm in to a Pre-K class!! I am so super excited about that!! I put in for this transfer 2 weeks ago and they told me that they didn't know if they were going to allow me to make such a move in the middle of the school year. So I stepped back and just prayed about it!!

On Wednesday which was yesterday they called me into the office and sat me down and told me that i'm getting a big bonus this Friday!!! I only get paid once a month on the 26th of each month, their not even going to wait to put it with my paycheck they are giving it to me tomorrow!! I am so excited!! Extra money is always wonderful!!!

We went to church this past Sunday for the first time in a while.. the fact that we haven't been in a while isn't something i'm proud of but we had been moving and letting other things destract us from going! Church was wonderful!! It felt so wonderful to just feel the presence of God all around!! Pastor Jay started a new series called "Supernatural" and it was amazing!! After church we went to bon bons which is a new bakery place on Greenwell Springs Rd. in between church and Wax Rd. It was so good!!! They serve breakfast and lunch items as well as sweet stuff!! We really liked it.

I'm looking forward to this weekend b/c i'm going to be able to see almost all my close friends. Saturday morning us girls are getting together at Lauryn's house to have breakfast and all enjoy some time together. Then Saturday afternoon we are going to Terry and Kim's house for the LSU vs. Florida game!! I am super excited about this game!! Then Sunday Chris and I are going to have our day together. We will go to church, then go have lunch somewhere, then go out to the mall and walk around and enjoy being just the two of us!! Then maybe on Monday little miss Laurel will make her way into the world!! I'm am so excited and cannot wait to meet her!! I know Rachel is probably freaking out about everything but she is going to be an amazing mom!!

Well i'm going to go watch 'Private Practice'. I don't have to be at work until 11:30 b/c the kids don't have school today! It is parent/teacher conference day.

Relaxed!!!

WE FINALLY GOT MOVED!!!

As you can see i'm very excited about being moved!! I hate moving!!! Now when I get off of work I can relax and not have to worry about going between houses and packing things and going to storage.

This week seems to be moving along at a slow pace for me.

Last weekend was a good one. Chris's brother Josh and his wife Michelle came down with the baby so we got to see Katherine for the first time!! She is so adorable and I held her for the majority of the time we were around them!! I know Chris was happy to spend some time with his brother since he hadn't seen him in forever!!

This weekend should be wonderful!!! Chris is off on Saturday and Sunday!! On Saturday we are going to meet Ashlie and Lauryn at some party stores to find stuff for the costume party then we are going to the mall!!! I am so excited about this halloween b/c it will be my first time to dress up!! I am going to be Little Red Riding Hood and Chris is going to be the Big Bad Wolf!!!

I just wanted to catch up on my blogging hopefully soon I will not be so busy and be able to keep it up better!!!

Awesome Weekend!!

Today is Sunday and we have so much to do!! What happened to Sunday being a day of rest?!? Well, Chris is getting all of his rest it's almost 12:00 and he is still sleeping! We have to pack some more stuff then we are going to bring some of the boxes to the storage unit.

Saturday was such a fun day!! I woke up and relaxed and packed some stuff. I got dressed around 1:00 and Ashlie, Kim, and I went and got our nails done. It did not take to nail place long to do them and they look so good! After getting our nails done we went to hooters to hold a table for the LSU game. We got there at 3:15 and the game didn't even start until 6:45!! We had fun having girl time though. We each ordered a drink and shared some fried pickles. The time went by fast just talking and having fun. Finally everyone showed up and we watch the amazing game!! We had 16 people in our party and it was just a blast.

The first half of the game we were behind, but as everyone showed know by now LSU always makes the comeback in the second half of the game. LSU won the game 26-21!!!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful work week and hopefully it will go by fast!! We have to move out next weekend!!

What's going on?!?!

I was so excited when I signed on today and saw that just about everyone updated their blog!!

This weekend was so much fun!! Friday night I went to the melting pot with my mom and sister Lendie!! We had so much fun, it was my moms first time to go.
Saturday I woke up and just relaxed for a little bit then we went to Terry and Kim's house for the LSU vs. North Texas game. We had a blast. Ashlie and Jacob came, as well as Lauryn and Tommy. We didn't really watch much of the game b/c we were winning by so much. We mostly played games and just hung out.
Sunday Chris and I went to his grandmother's house to celebrate his dads birthday!!

The only thing that didn't go so well this weekend is that our hot water heater broke!!! We have no hot water!! Thank God my best friend lives next door to me and said we can go over there to take showers. So far we have just been taking cold showers but I think tomorrow morning i'm going to go over there if that is ok.

We have starting packing to move out of our house by Oct. 1. We also started renting a storage unit that is climate controlled to store our stuff in. The man who owns that storage company we are renting from was so nice that he let us pay for Oct. and have Sept. for free!! We don't have to pay again until Nov. This is good b/c as we get stuff packed we can bring it to the storage unit instead of just letting it pile up till the 1st of Oct.

School was good today except that one of my kids was just dead set on breaking my arm, which obviously didn't happen!! Then at the end of the day when I thought my day was over one of the bus drivers brings a kid back to school saying that no one was at the house to get the kid. I took the child by the hand and brought him into the office to see what we needed to do. The principal said that the bus driver needed to bring the kid back to the house b/c someone was there. When I walked back outside the driver had left already. When we tried to get in touch with the driver he refused to come back and get the child. This really pissed me off b/c I didn't leave school until 4:20 dealing with an issue that the bus driver just threw on me!! I eventually left and the vice principal stayed with the child. I still have no idea out the child got home!!

We have Cable and Internet!!!!

Ok so since Monday Sept. 1 we have not had Cable or Internet. I never realized how much we watch t.v and use the computer!!

We were truly blessed during the hurricane. We did not have any trees fall on our house like so many other people did. We stayed at my parents house during the hurricane b/c during Katrina they only lost power for about 15 min. This time they lost power for 4 days!! The power was out at our house for almost 5 days!! Everything that was in our refridgerator we had to throw away! This storm completely sucked and cost us a lot of money, but I still say we were blessed b/c everything of ours that is worth anything was ok.
I never realize how much I take little everyday things for granted. I just assume in the morning that when I wake up and flip a switch the light will come on. There are so many people that don't have that luxury and yet I don't think twice about it. My eyes have really been opened through all of this!!

We returned back to school this monday after being out a week because of Gustav. East Baton Rouge Parish schools haven't gone back to school yet. Their first day back is going to be this coming up Monday. I am so happy that we still went to school even though they didn't because they are going to have to make the missed time up somewhere. I'm happy that we won't be going to school through June!!

I am missing all of my friends but I know that we will be getting together soon!! I hope everyone's life is starting to get more back to normal!!

Home Early

Yesterday I started feeling bad, then today when I woke up I felt horrible!! I went in to school anyway, b/c I wasn't going to leave them hanging. After being there for about 2 hours they told me to go home and get better, I guess they didn't want me getting anyone sick!! I just put in for a substitute for tomorrow, so hopefully someone will pick the job up or my class will be short a person tomorrow as well.

Hopefully I'll be able to return to work on Friday!! I hate being sick, and I actually hate having to take time off for this!! I was wanting to save up all my time so if I were to get pregnant I would have some time for just in case. Oh well, I have more time I guess it's just two days.

Friday after work we are suppose to be driving up to West Monroe to visit Chris' brother Josh and his little family. We have still yet to see Katherine in person. If i'm still sick then I won't be going b/c I don't want to get the baby sick!! We were going to come back home late on Sunday, but now with Hurricane Gustav we will have to leave early Sunday to get home and get prepared.

If Hurricane Gustav decides to visit Louisiana we will be going to my parents house with the boys. I just don't feel safe where we live right now to ride out an hurricane!! I most likely don't feel safe b/c there is a huge tree that is hanging over our bedroom, that I just know wants to fall down.

well i'm going to try to lay down again, my nose won't stop running so it is impossible to sleep!!

My Tattoo!!

Saturday Afternoon Ashlie, Amber, Lauryn and I went to Inked Up in Denham Springs. Ashlie and Amber both got their Nose pierced. Lauryn and I both got a Tattoo on our foot. Here is some pictures of my tattoo!! It is really sore and will look it's best when it is completely healed!! I ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT THOUGH!! Hope you like it!!!

It's been a while!!

Well it has been a while since I posted last. I have been so busy with work, but I absolutly love it!! Even though sometimes at the end of the day all I want to do is go home and get in bed I still love it!!

The only big thing that has happened in my life since my last post is that I'M AN AUNT AGAIN!! My sister Amber had her third child on Thursday August 14!! Sophia Rose Varnado is my new niece's name and she is so precious!!! She looks just like Cole!

Other than that exciting news nothing else has really happened. Chris and I are doing wonderful, and we are about to start packing to move!! I need to start calling around to different storages places.

I'm really excited about Rachel's baby shower on Saturday! I can't wait to see all of the cute baby stuff that she is going to get for Laurel!! I can already hear the voices in my head of a bunch of women saying Aww... Look how precious!! Baby Showers are my favorite showers of all!! I also like couple showers.. but anyways. That was the random thought of the day!! haha see i'm going crazy hanging out with 2nd and 3rd graders all day!!

A Long Day!!!

So it is Monday @ 9:20 P.M. I just got home a 9:00 from my first day at work, let me remind I left my house at 6:30 this morning!! The day was very good, I did a lot of work in the classroom. At 6:00 Open House started, so I got to meet my kids parents. After talking with the parents, I really feel like we are all on the same page!! It feels good to know that the parents are behind you and supporting you!! I brought some stuff home that I'm going to have to work on, and i'm going to have to go to wal-mart and get some stuff that I didn't even think about till today. The classroom is so cute!! Chris even came up to the school today to help me hang some stuff up, and brought me some things from the house that I needed. Well, i'm going to go to bed now. I hope everyone had a great Monday, and I hope you have a Wonderful Tuesday!!

Blogging On a Saturday!!!

I had a wonderful week hanging out with Lendie, Jason, and Emmy!! I had to come home on Thursday b/c I had Orientation on Friday. Orientation went well, I learned more in depth about the school system then what I already knew. Central really is the best possible school system to work for. They offer so many perks to whoever works in the system, they support their faculty and staff to the fullest, and it really is all about the kids!!! I'm so excited to start work!! Monday morning i'm meeting all the Tanglewood faculty and staff at school at 7:20 then we are all carpooling to Blackwater Methodist and they are serving us breakfast and it's going to be the kick off of our school year. Everyone that works full time for the Central School System will be there. I'm excited about seeing all of the teachers that I became friends last year, as well as some of my old middle and high school teachers b/c they will be there as well!! After the kick off breakfast we will all go back to our schools and work in our classrooms and get our id's. Monday night the Elementary Schools have Open House. I will me the parents of my kids before I meet my kids, I'm kinda nervous about that!!! So basically Monday I will be at work from 7:20 AM-8:30 PM!! I know some people would not like this idea but i'm so super excited!!

If anyone has any extra childrens books that they don't want and you want to donate them to my Special Ed class, we would really appreciate it!!!

Well I'm going to go get ready, I have to run to my parents house and do something real fast then I'm hanging out with my Best Friend for a little bit. It feels like I haven't seen her or really talked to her in forever. I hope I recognize her when I see her, b/c her picture in my head is starting to fade!! haha J/k!! Yes Ashlie, I was talking about YOU!!

Lauryn, I'm sorry I can't make it tonight to On The Border!! I wish I could but Chris is really excited about us spending time together!! I want to see everyone soon!! I'm jealous!!

Having a Blast!!

I made it to Georgia on Saturday around 2:30 in the afternoon here. We have been having so much fun!! Saturday night my sister had some friends come over and we ate and played Cranium. Sunday we went to church then swimming. Right now we are watching one of my sisters neighbors kids but only for another hour. When they leave we are going to go to the library and then to wal-mart. Tonight the friends are coming back over. They are really sweet. They are a married couple name Justin and Crystal. They have a 8 month old little boy named Lenny and he is just adorable!!! We are going to grill chicken tonight and play games again!! I am loving my last week off of work!! Emmy was so excited to see her nanny!! We have been outside a lot b/c the weather is just perfect!! I am missing my hubby but he understood that I wouldn't see my family for a while, and he didn't mind me coming at all!!

Change in Plans!!

I'm about to leave to head to Brittney's house!! I'm so excited about helping her out today. I was suppose to stay there and then tomorrow continue to help her, Ashlie, and Lauryn.

Well I start work this Friday with Orientation then Monday I start going to school all day long to work. I won't get extended time off until Thanksgiving which is 3 1/2 months away so I decided that one last time for a while i'm going to go visit my family in Georgia!! I'm so excited, i'm not excited about the 10 hour drive by myself but it will be time for self reflection. haha yeah right... It will be a time to listen to my music as loud as I want. I actually LOVE driving, and I don't mind being by myself!!!

So New Plans are:

Leaving for Brittney in about 30 min.
Staying the night at Brittney's house tonight
Leave at about 3 A.M and head toward Ga.
Arrive in Ga. around 1 P.M
Head home on Thurs. Aug. 7

I will have my phone with me so if anyone needs me, or just wants to chat... feel free to call me!!

Thursday...Definitly closer to Friday than Monday

So today is Thursday!!!
I'm going to get dressed and ride with my mom to visit my mom's mom. I know some people are thinking don't you mean your mawmaw?? Yes she is my mawmaw, but I never call her that b/c when I think back on my life she has never been what a mawmaw should be towards me. I haven't seen her in a very long time, so going to visit should be interesting.

I am so excited about tomorrow, I'm going to go to Brittney's house!!! We have been friend's since elementary school, and it feels so weird going to visit her house. We had lived next to each other for so long, it never really crossed my mind when I was younger that going to visit Brittney would be more that just 1 house away. I know she has been living in New Orleans for many years now, but this is different. I'm going to visit HER HOUSE!! I remember Brittney having a tree house (it wasn't in a tree though but up in the air) and we would pretend that was our club house. Now, she has a really big club house for me to go in. haha! I hope I don't get all emotional when I walk in her house, it just feels like we are playing house again!! I guess I miss her more than I realize and when I think about going to see her, it hits me.

Tuesday... Closer to Friday than Monday!

So my weekend was a fun one!!

Saturday I got to hang out with my friends, (even though we didn't get to go see little Addison) then Saturday night I went to the movies with my husband and Ashlie and Jacob. We saw Step Brothers which was so funny, but did have some things in it that I wouldn't suggest to anyone under 17. Just remember it is a rated "R" movie for a reason! It makes me so mad when I am in a rated "R" movie and see a little kid in the theatre! It's like if you can't get a babysitter for that night then go see another movie, don't subject your kids to that!!

Sunday we got up and went to church, we love our church!! The service started at 10:00 which is perfect b/c if you're doing something late on Saturday, it's not hard to get up and go to church. He preached about being Joyful no matter what is going on in your life. After church we went to Chris' grandmother's house to lunch, but really we didn't eat until 2:30 so I don't know what you would call that.

Yesterday I was suppose to go to the School Board Meeting but when I called to see what I need to do when I first get there, they said that I'm not on this School Board meeting agenda but the next. That is going to be either the 4th or 8th. I have Orientation on Aug. 8, which at that time I will get my benefits package!! YaY!! I also found out what teacher I will be working with this year. Her name is Mrs. Green and she is new to Tanglewood as well!! I will meet up with her before school starts so we can plan some things. I will be working with special ed this year and I will have 7-8 students. I'm so excited!!

I don't have anything planned for this week except i'm going to Brittney's house on Friday and staying the night, that way I can help her with whatever she needs while in the moving process. On Saturday Ashlie and Lauryn will be driving up. I'm going to leave around 4:00 on Saturday to come back home.

Read with Caution!! Testament of God's Unfailing Love

Before you start reading this post, beware it is long. If you read the entire post you will know what is going on majorly in my life right now. These are not little issues that I have dealt with, these are major things that I have spent so much time thinking about, praying about, and crying about. I am crying as I write this because it is just now that I realize though everything i've been through in life, I am truly Blessed!

If things in you life aren't going to way you've imagined give it to God! Believe me I know it is easier said than done, but when you truly do give it to God, you will feel a trumendous amount of weight lifted off of your shoulders and he will take care of everything!!


So in my last post at the end I said I would post about how God has been blessing Chris and I.

1st
Everyone knows that I have been having trouble with my health and have been taking Medication for Inslin Resistance. My case of Inslin Resistance is very different for most people's case because mine interfered with my menstral cycle. Starting back in December I stopped having periods and did not have one until April. This is not a good thing to happen to any woman who has been having regular cycles. Well the Dr. didn't find out what was wrong with me until February so that is when I started taking my Meds. I had a cycle in April, and June. It seems as if i'm only having one every other month. This can very well interfere with Chris and I having a baby, but I have given this to God and I know that if us having a baby right now is in God's will then we will have a baby. If it's not in God's plan for us to have get pregnant right now, no matter how much we try we won't. I will still praise God and know that one day our day will come, and I will wait patiently for that day!

2nd
Like I had mentioned in my last post I passed my test. I knew that I always wanted to work with kids, and that when Central became it's own city I wanted to work for it's school system. I have such a passion for the kids in Central and I know it's because I grew up in Central Schools all my life. I thought that only way for me to work there would be for me to finish college with a degree in teaching, but I knew I wanted a family more. God opened to door for me to have the job I want in the school system I want, without having to finish school first.

3rd
Chris and I have been talking about starting our family. Having a baby right now is in both of our hearts and God knows that. I know that we will be great parents, and I just see Chris being an awesome daddy!! With that being said we don't really want to live where we are living when we have a baby. It is fine for the two of us, but it's just not a place that I could see me bringing a baby home to. We do not have central heat and air, and all of the electricity wiring is very old. We didn't know what to do b/c I don't feel we should put having a family on hold just because of where we live right now. I talked with my mom and we decided that in October (pregnant or not) we are going to move to my parents house for 6 months counting October. This means that in Feb. we will find a house and start the paperwork process of buying it. This way by March we should have closed on a house and start moving.
At first I didn't know how I felt about this plan, but now I'm really excited. In the 6 months that we are at my parents we should save around $12,000. Not everyone's parents would let them do this for free, but my parents are being a huge blessing to us starting our family. When I look at mine and Chris' life together 6 months at my parents house is no big deal. I just Thank God that we have this chance to better ourselves.

Lastly
I am not writing this post to say that I am so holy and deserve all of God's blessings. God knows that I have done my fair share of sinning, and do not deserve anything from him. I Thank God for his mercy and forgiveness that he has given us. No one is perfect and God knows what is in everyone's heart, and if you just open the door and allow him in, the changes he will make in your life are so amazing!!!

I Made The Grade!!!!

Yesterday I went to the Central Community School board office and took the paraprofessional test. There were 90 questions and I was given 2 1/2 hours to complete the test. In order to pass the test I had to score atleast a 450 of the test. I passed with a 472! I was so excited and if felt as if a weight had just be lifted off of me.
On monday I have to go the the monthly school board meeting, at which time I will be introduced to the entire school board. This is when I will formally be entered as an employee of Central Community Schools. I am so excited!!

I also found out that the State of Louisiana offers a program for paraprofessionals, so that if you qualify the state will pay your tuition and offer a stipend so that I could go back to school and get certified as a teacher. Here is a little bit about it:

The State of Louisiana provides for a Tuition Exemption and Stipend Program that is designed to assist teacher aides and other paraprofessionals who work in state-approved elementary and secondary schools to meet the qualifications for certification as a teacher.Eligible participants must agree to practice his/her profession in the public elementary or secondary schools of Louisiana for at least two consecutive years after completion of all required courses for certification and upon becoming certified as a teacher.

I meet all of the qualifications for the program so I will submit an application for the program for next year. The best part is that Southeastern is on the approved list!! Who ever thought that I might be able to go to school, to get a degree to do what I want to do and not only not have to pay for school but also get paid to do it.

Everything always seems to workout and I know it is just because of Jesus!! I just have to keep telling myself that if you are in his will he will take care of everything! My life is going the way that I prayed over and over it would!! I'll post later talking more in detail about how awesome God has been in my and Chris' life!

Home Sweet Home

So it's been over a week since my last post b/c we have been in Florida!!

We had so much fun, the first day it rained a little bit but after that shower the weather was perfect!! Most of the time we would just hang out at the beach but we did ride jet ski's one day which was a blast!! We would wake up in the morning and walk out to the beach and there would be so many dolphins swimming around and not far from the shore!! Night time was so much fun b/c we would either cook a meal for everyone or go out to eat, then we would go do something!

We made the decision to come home on Friday instead of Saturday so that Chris could have 2 full days home before going back to work. Saturday we went to the movies and saw the Dark Knight which was AMAZING!! Heath Ledger did an amazing job as the Joker!! I really think that he will get an award for his role in the movie. He was such an awesome actor who threw himself into every role he did no matter how diverse!

Sunday we went to church and then to my parents house to eat. My sister Amber and her family came over. Amber is due in just 4 weeks and then I will have my 5 niece!!

Today I am just hanging out at my house and cleaning up a bit. I have to wash clothes, bath my boys, pay bills. Then i'm going to reteach myself some of the stuff we learned in middle school so I know for a fact that I will pass my test that i'm going to take tomorrow!!

I'm an Aunt again!!!

Katherine Grace Jenkins was born today and her weight is 6 pounds 4 ounces!! I don't know the her length yet b/c when I talked to Jaime they were still cleaning her off. I'm so excited for the Jenkins family b/c this is the first baby in 17 years!! Katherine is the first grandchild for Mr. Russell & Mrs. Mary!

Brittney and Nick got their house today which is also very exciting!! I know they put a bid on a house last week and she just found out today that she got the house! I am so happy that everything has fallen into place for them right before she starts school in August! God has a plan for everyone! Everything is in his timing and I just think it is so amazing how everything always falls into place when it is most needed to.

I've been running around like crazy today running errands before leaving for our family vacation tomorrow!! I'm so excited about going!! I'm excited about going with the majority of my immediate family but i'm mainly excited b/c I haven't been on vacation with my sister Lendie in forever!!

My children will be staying at their Aunt Ashlie & Uncle Jacob's house this week, so I know I don't have to worry about them! It is so wonderful to have such great friends that you can count on! I know I can go and relax and know that everything is going to be ok back home!!

well this has been an extremely long post for which i'm sorry! I hope everyone has a great weekend and week next week!! I'm sure my inbox will be full when I get home!

New to this...

Hi.
I just recently decided to start a blog. I don't really know how good i'm going to be at this, exspecially being that I wasn't even good at keeping up with a xanga page. I actually just happened to stumble across a blog that one of my friends has and thought that looked like a good idea. I will try my best to write about things that you might actually be intersted in. So here I go..

This is what is going on in my life right now...

Chris and I are living in Watson right now, our mailing address is Denham but I consider this Watson. Chris is working at James Construction right now, and I just accepted a job at Tanglewood Elementary School in Central. I have to pass a test before the job is officially mine but i'm not that worried about it!! We have decided that in August if our insurance has gone through by then, we are going to try to get Pregnant!!! We are both super excited!! A lot of our friends and family are having babies soon, and we are just so happy for all of them and keep them in our prayers!

Well this is my life up to this point and as soon as anything intersting happens I will let you know!!
