One Month

This past Monday on September 14 Jonah turned 1 month old. I can't believe how fast time has flown by! I look at our little boy, and can't believe that it's been a month since I first saw that sweet face, and kissed those sweet lips! Jonah is such a wonderful baby boy, and I am so blessed to be his mommy!! He just loves to be cuddled and he is constantly smiling! He only fusses when he is hungry or has a tummy ache. He is such a strong little boy! He constantly is picking his head up, and when he lays on his back he can scoot himself. He loves to have "tummy time" he turns his head from side to side. He has grown so much in the past month, and I know he is just going to continue to grow. I'm so excited to see all the new things he is learning to do, but so sad to see that he is getting older. I just want him to be my little newborn boy forever!! His favorite thing in the whole world is to listen to his music!! It is really the funniest thing in the world to watch his expressions when he hears his music come on! here are some pictures from the 1st month of Jonah's life...

Surprise!

So Chris and I have a secret that we have only told a few people...

WE ARE BUILDING A HOUSE!!

We have been in the process of getting stuff together to build our house for several months now. We did not want to tell everyone or post anything about it until we were sure that everything was going to work out.

We are building in Watson. We are so excited, we knew that we wanted to either buy/build in Central or Watson. Watson won!!

The name of our neighborhood is Seigle Village. There are no houses in the neighborhood yet. It is just a one street neighborhood off of Sims Rd. It is a new development, our builder is Bruce Easterly. We couldn't be more excited!! It will take about 3 to 3 1/2 months to finish our house, so we should be in it by Christmas!!

here are some pics of the progress of our house...

New Blog

This is now our family blog. No longer will I update on the babysite for Jonah. Everything exciting that goes on within our family will be all posted on here. It has been a while since I've updated, because I've been so busy. It has been almost 3 weeks since Jonah's been born and we are finally getting on some kind of schedule.

I absolutely love being a mommy!! Our son is the best little boy in the world. We are all doing wonderful!! Jonah eats every 3 to 3 1/2 hours. I am breastfeeding, and pumping. He seems to do a lot better when I pump and feed him a bottle b/c I can make sure he is getting enough to drink. He drinks 4 oz. everytime he eats. He still sleeps a lot, but in the afternoon he stays up for a while. He loves take a bath in the tub. The two of us take a bath together in the afternoon.

Chris is such an awesome daddy!! He took the first week after Jonah was born off of work to help me. It was so hard for him to head back to work! Everyday when he comes in from work, he takes a shower as soon and fast as he can so that he can hold his little boy. He makes up songs and sings them to Jonah. It is the sweetest thing that I have ever seen!! It is so obvious that Jonah is Chris' whole world.

My parents have been such a blessing to us! My mom feeds Jonah atleast one of his feedings when she gets in from work, so I can get some extra sleep. They have watched Jonah several times, so that we can go do things that we need to do without bringing Jonah out.

Our family and friends have been so wonderful. They have all come to see Jonah several times! It is such a wonderful feeling to have so many people in our lives that love our son so much and want to be a part of his life!!

It is so crazy how much I love this little boy. He is everything to me! Everytime we make a decision about something, it is with him in mind. I thank God everyday for blessing us with such a wonderful little boy, and for entrusting Chris and I to raise Jonah up to serve him!

A Look back on a year of blogging...

So I just realized that i've been blogging for a year now. I started my blog in July of 2008. This year has flown by so fast. I thought I would reminise on the past year, and some of the things that have happened.

Then... I started off this blog hoping that I had landed a full time job with Central Community Schools. I did get the paraprofessional job I was hoping for working with a self contained class. I then switched from working with self-contained to working with pre-k which I absolutely loved!!

Now... I am still a para with Central Schools, but this school year I will be at Bellingrath Hills instead of Tanglewood. I will be floating around to different classrooms/grades, working 1 on 1 with children that are at risk of being held back.

Then... I was so excited because Chris and I were going to start trying to get pregnant. We didn't get pregnant right away, but finally we did!!!

Now... I will be welcoming my precious baby boy into the world in about 2 weeks.

Then... Chris and I were living in a duplex in Watson. We had gotten ourselves into some debt that we needed to get out of so we moved to my parents house to save money, get out of debt, and get a house.

Now... We are still living at my parents house, but we are almost out of debt. Owning our own home is not just a dream anymore, we can see it in the near future!!!

We have definitley had some ups and downs during my past year of blogging, but we have been so BLESSED. Actually writing this blog has just shown me how many of my prayers God answered! Sometimes I might get down because at that point in my life things may not look the way I want them too, but I have never needed anything and God not be there to provide for that need.

Thank you Jesus for being so good to me, even when I haven't always been serving you the way I should.
